This work is the result of my summer residency at the Toronto School of Art in 2011. Cherry Street is an industrial port area that has been earmarked for redevelopment. There has been a political discussion and plans for cleanup with often clumsy, if not detrimental suggestions. In my photographs I take a look at the area through a European pictorial tradition, in an attempt to explore and unlock innovative and unconventional new potentials.
